Why will the HI speed on my fan not turn on?

This is normal at the beginning of your fire. The HI setting on your fan will not turn on until a hotter fire has developed as the higher speed can blow out a weak flame.

If you have been running a large flamed fire for at least ten minutes and the HI setting will still not turn on, contact BioLite.
